I have the Sandisk 1 TB version of that same drive. It has failed me. My Macbook pro doesn't image it in Finder. I'll try that recovery app. Hopefully it will help. Thanks for the video and advice.

SSDs are terrible for external storage that you don't plan to use very often. It's not commonly mentioned fact because people rarely verify integrity of their data and just not notice it but all SSDs are prone to data retention issues if drive is left unplugged for a long time (especially if you leave it exposed to sun and heat). It's case for all flash storage devices. It's non issue for internal drives since they're rarely unpowered for long period of time and those drives automatically refresh data if there's need for it IF they're powered on. But I did have my ssd severely corrupt data just lying on desk for 2 years unused. So if you plan to use ssd for rarely used external backup - just don't.

Hey, I know im todays world the drives need to be fast and portable. But, you can't deny the reliability of HDD, thats why all of my data backed up to my HDD rather than SSD. Also did you know SSD will lose it's data if not connected more than a year or more(depends on brand)

Hey everyone, I had a question about this. So I have another channel that I will be showcasing the new VJ software I developed which is real-time live music visuals. I obviously... as you can guess.. wanted to showcase this new art form (the live visualizer creation) best with well-known songs. Would this actually count as Fair Use due to the transformative nature of the work where I'm manually performing live visuals on the song, especially if I trim it down to the best 1 min?

Jesus Christ Why is everything have to be So expensive for such a small space? Everything is like from $300 to $500 and up! I mean have you ever heard of a low budget startup I mean this is way too much for anybody just starting out to spend on you got easily over thousands of dollars to set up a tiny small space in creating your own Studio! So this would not work! It seems like whatever information you got out there to do the studio that's what you went with no matter the cost! So anybody just starting out you're going to end up being broke before you can even start something and then as a beggar you cannot be choosing either you can't choose a million little light bulbs or lights or cameras to shoot your studio with so you only get one camera one light and maybe some background and that's it just the essentials.

Same happened to me with the 4 TB Sandisk. After spending weeks dealing with the customer support they were sending me an other additional 4 TB Sandisk. Now I have two and don't trust them at all. My 1.2 TB files I saved on the original disk were never recovered!

Great video! An even faster way to delete the source audio is to Alt + click on the audio, then delete. No need to unlink.

I have done some looking up on this it seems most of the issues have been reported using it on the MacOS and Sandisk has reported there was a firmware issue causing Disconnects from the system and you can check the SSD Seriel on thier site and find if you need to update the drive since this video was posted. and it seems they have been working in some level of good faith to try and address this issue so I appreciate the honesty in the video though but woudl remind folks reading this and watching this video is is over a year old and alot can happen to improve (or worsen I am not going to lie that things can't get worse but not deny they also can get better) so please keep that in mind before deciding., Do you're due diligence first then go from there and do what I do . Have More than one backup device on different media types :)
